The artist uses in her work, sculpture photography, painting, drawing, video,
graphics or embroidery. She studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, at the Faculty of Conservation and Restoration of
Works of Art and at the Department of Sculpture, in the famous "Kowalnia" - studio of Professor Grzegorz
Kowalski. She also trained at the Centre National des Arts Plastiques Villa Arson in
Nice and at the University of Warsaw, where she graduated in Gender Studies. Her works, through
the use of metaphor, address themes of transience, erosion of matter and physiological processes.
Her works are distinguished by her painterly and graphic technique. The form is often open,
understated, abstract. One of her many solo exhibitions was part of the
Liverpool Biennale in 2009. Buczkowska's works have been presented in exhibitions at the
Warsaw's Zachęta and CCA Ujazdowski Castle, Poznan's Arsenal Gallery, as well as in
museums and galleries in Tel Aviv, Paris, Vienna and at the Biennale of Contemporary
Sculpture in Australia.
