Painter and actor. Between 1941 and 1945, he began studying drawing and painting in the studio of Zdzisław Kalędkiewicz in Częstochowa, and after the war moved to Cracow, taking lessons from Prof. Pautsch. At the same time, in 1946, he passed the acting exam, obtaining a license to practice. He worked in theaters in Torun, Lodz and Warsaw, doing stage design there as well. In 1961 he gave up acting in favor of painting (although he had also actively created and exhibited his works earlier). He was a member of the "Group 55" at the "Krzywe Koło" Gallery of Modern Art. He found himself in the style of abstract painting. In his works he placed great emphasis on color, expression and matter. The artist is counted among the creators of Polish Tashism.
