Polish painter, since 2015 professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow where he leads the Interdisciplinary Studio. He studied philosophy at the Jagiellonian University and painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow. During his studies, he and a group of friends founded the students' club and gallery "Pod Ręką". He defended his diploma in 2000 in the studio of Slawomir Karpowicz. After graduation he went to Tuscany for seven years. There he met Silvio Loffredo and Mario Luzi. He lived and worked in Florence and Tizzano. In 2007, his work came to the attention of the founder of the Frissiras Museum in Athens, Vlasis Frissiras, who invited Bogumil Książek to participate in the exhibition Eclectic Affinities Among European Artists, presenting contemporary European figuratists, and subsequently showed his work as part of a series of projects carried out by the Athens institution. His works are in private collections in Poland and abroad, including Italy, Greece and the United Kingdom.
