Franz Ringel was a student of Albin Paris Gütersloh at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna from 1960 to 1965. He was a founding member of the group "Wirklichkeiten" with which he achieved great success in the Vienna Secession.
His favourite and most popular motifs among international art collectors were human, erotic figures from the depths of the human subconscious.
