Biography
Zdzislaw Cyankiewicz (Cyan) studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow. In 1935 he became a drawing lecturer there. In 1937, concerned about the political situation, he left for Paris, where he established contacts with the École de Paris community. During World War II, as a soldier in the French army, he was taken to a prisoner of war camp. In the 1950s, he had his first successes at Paris exhibitions and made a final stylistic change in his work. At that time he created paintings, sculptures, collages, ceramics and wall paintings using electronic programming. He participated in exhibitions: Galerie Charpentier, retrospective exhibition (1961), Grand Palais (1975), Salon d'Automne (1976) and Bilan de l'Art Contemporain (1979).
