On a flat oval base, depiction of King Frederick II of Prussia (1712-1786) with his two favorite greyhounds at his feet - seated and recumbent (Alcmene and Hasenfuss). Frederick II stands in a slight contrapposto by a trunk with oak leaves, supported by his right hand on a cane; wearing a uniform frock coat with an order on a ribbon, a tricorn, high boots, wearing gloves with high cuffs and with a saber at his side.
Figure according to an 1822 bronze casting, based on an 1816 design by Johann Gottfried von Schadow (1764-1850), a popular image of the Prussian king, often repeated in slightly different versions by many German ceramic manufacturers.
