Germany, Bavaria, Sandizell (Schrobenhausen), Porzellanfabrik Sandizell Höffner & Co?
ca. 1951-1960
On an oval shaped base two young, two barefoot girls in thin, slightly flared antique dresses. Facing each other in dancing poses, they climb on tiptoes and bring their raised right hands toward each other; a pigeon sits on top of the palm of one of the dancers, lightly supported with her hand by the other dancer. A second pigeon at the feet of the dancers.
The group is stylized after the products of the Ernst Böhne Söhne factory in Rudolstadt (Thuringia) in the early 20th century, with a signature reminiscent of the brand of this manufactory.
The factory in Sandizell (Schrobhausen district) had been in operation since 1951, thanks to the acquisition of qualified staff - workers and modelers from ceramic factories in Thuringia, who came to Bavaria after the establishment of the German Democratic Republic in 1949.
