Richly illustrated biography of Ludwika Sniadecka (1802-1866), youthful love of Juliusz Słowacki, Muslim wife of Michał Czajkowski (Sadyk-pasha), active Polish activist in Turkey. Together with her husband, she was involved in the establishment of Adampol, a Polish settlement near Istanbul. She is buried there.
