Ireneusz Jankowski (born in 1947 in Sokołów Podlaski) - visual artist, educator, animator of culture.
He received his artistic education at the State College of Fine Arts (now the Academy of Fine Arts) in Gdańsk (diploma in 1986). He also graduated from Postgraduate Studies in Politics and Education Management at the University of Warsaw (2000).
In his work, Ireneusz Jankowski was primarily concerned with landscapes, but he gradually changed the subject matter and introduced various means of artistic communication. The artist uses various artistic elements in his works, introducing also a relief and creating his own specific technique.
For a long time, he was mainly involved in teaching. He was also involved in cultural education and culture animation. He has received many awards for his educational activities, including the Award of the President of the Capital City of Of Warsaw (2017), Medal of the National Education Commission (2006), Award of the Minister of National Education (1996) and others. He also received a scholarship from the Ministry of Culture and Art (1996). Since 1992, he has been running his own art program at the XXXIV Secondary School in Warsaw. As a teacher for whom teaching is a great passion, he educated a whole crowd of future graduates of art studies, who are now well-known Polish artists.
He has dozen individual exhibitions in his portfolio. He also took part in many group exhibitions, open-air events, art fairs, actions and art workshops in Poland and abroad.
