Stanislaw Rolicz was born in 1917 in Manchuria and died in 1997 in Sopot. He studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Stefan Batory University in Vilnius and at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Lithuanian Academy in Vilnius. He interrupted his studies due to the outbreak of World War II. In 1945, he moved to Gdynia, where he co-founded the local branch of theAssociation of Polish Artists. He then began studying at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun, receiving his diploma in 1948. After graduation, he returned to Gdynia and took up teaching work as a teacher at the State High School of Visual Arts in Gdynia-Orlovo. He was actively involved in the artistic community, serving as director of the Gdynia Visual Arts Center from 1950.
