Characteristic of Latin American art, the work of one of the most popular artists of the Brazilian naive art movement. Vivid colors, light and subjects from the daily lives of simple people brought success. Her work, highly regarded in Brazil, rarely makes it to Europe. Assina Yrani Calheiros (1945-2017) - Brazilian artist was born in Maceió and came to São Paulo at the age of 16. She began painting in the late 1960s, participating with other artists in important cultural movements (Praça da República) and at the Embu das Artes art fair. She has participated in numerous exhibitions in Brazil and abroad.
