Polish sculptor, co-founder of the Association of Sculptor Artists and the Society of Friends of Sopot, member of the International Association of Visual Arts AIAP. Graduate of the State Institute of Fine Arts in Lviv - studied in the atelier of Marian Wnuk and Jozef Strarzynski. He defended his diploma in 1951 at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts in the studio of Franciszek Strynkiewicz. He worked at art schools - he began his teaching career at the School of Art Industry in Lviv, then became permanently affiliated with the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Gdansk - in 1981 he was appointed dean. He showed great help in the reconstruction and restoration of the sculptures of the Old Town in Gdansk. For a short time in the 1960s, he worked as a professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts at Damascus University. He sought inspiration in ancient art. He also practiced drawing using the lava ink technique. Adam Smolana's works can be admired in leading museums in Poland and abroad, including India, Syria, Egypt, New Zealand, USA, Russia. The artist has been awarded many times.
