Work after conservation. Teodor Baltazar Stachowicz was the son of painter Michał Stachowicz, grandson of Stanislaw Stachowicz, a Cracow printer and bookseller. He studied painting under his father, took up studies at the Cracow School of Fine Arts in 1820, and graduated in 1825, thanks to a bequest from Sebastian Sierakowski. Between 1837 and 1855 he was a drawing teacher at the SS Prezentki School. He painted views of Krakow, churches and the defensive walls of Krakow. Lit.
