Mieczysłąw Jurgielewicz - painter and graphic artist. Studied painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Stefan Batory University in Vilnius under Ferdynand Ruszczyc (1923) and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw under Mieczysław Kotarbiński and Władysław Skoczylas (1924-1928). In 1931-1939 and 1947-1952 he was a teacher at the academy. He received a silver medal at the International Art and Technology Exhibition in Paris (1937), and an honorable mention at the Third Festival of Fine Arts in Warsaw (1970). He was a member of the Association of Graphic Artists Ryt (1937-1939), the Association of Polish Graphic Artists, the Bloc of Professional Artists and the Kardasz Group (1957-1963). He was an honorary member of the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence (since 1965).
