Leon Piccard (born 1843 in Niemirów, died 1917 in Kraków) - Polish painter.He spent his youth in Oleszyce near Lubaczów. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow under Władysław Łuszczkiewicz and Feliks Szynalewski, and from May 4, 1867 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and from 1868 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. He was also a student of Jan Matejko. After graduating, he mainly took up historical and monumental painting. He also painted scenes from the uprisings of the 19th century.Together with Witold Pruszkowski, he made wall paintings according to the cartons of Władysław Łuszczkiewicz in the Church of the Nativity of Our Lord and St. Bartholomew the Apostle in Cracow-Mogile.He exhibited his paintings in the Society of Friends of Fine Arts in Cracow and the Society for the Encouragement of Fine Arts in Warsaw.
