Provenance: portfolio of illustrations to the fairy tales of Jean De La Fontaine, published in 1985 on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the Polish Word House.
Janusz Stanny graphic designer, poster artist, illustrator, called the master of Polish illustration. He illustrated more than 200 books, including "Pan Tadeusz," the Bible, La Fontaine's "Fairy Tales," "Don Quixote" Cervantes and "Fairy Tales" by H.Ch. Andersen. He has been called "the artist of the Polish book" and the creator of "books to look at." He created a distinctive style, recognizable at first glance. He illustrated fairy tales and fables with equal freedom and virtuosity, as well as literature intended for adults. "In his works he combined a painterly outlook with a sense of humor and a sharp line."
