Jacek Lipowczan was born in Istebna in Cieszyn Silesia. He received his diploma from the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, Poland. At the Faculty of Graphic Arts under Professor Mieczyslaw Wejman in 1976.

Since1981 Jacek Lipowczan has lived outside Poland, originally in Sweden, Australia and now in Germany. In Sydney he worked in the American studio of Cartoon Films "Hanna Barbera", where he designed scenes for various films.

After returning from Australia to Europe, in Germany, he worked as a Graphic Designer, Art Direktor and Illustrator in publishing houses and advertising agencies.

Since 2004, he decided to take up painting exclusively. In spite of today's art, in which avant-garde chases avant-garde, the group of artists painting in a similar style is growing every year. Jacek Lipowczan joins them and becomes a member of an international association - the Society of Art of Imagination in London, whose honorary patron was the well-known Austrian surrealist the late Professor Ernst Fuchs, and belongs to the "Visionary Art" group founded by Otto Rapp in Vienna.

Since then, Jacek Lipowczan - "JALI" has taken an active part in artistic life. He presented his works at many exhibitions - among others in the USA, Great Britain ( Mall Galleries in London ), Switzerland ( Giger Museum ), Germany, Austria ( Museum of Fantastic Art in Vienna ), Poland,

France ( three times at the Autumn Salon in Paris ), Italy and Denmark. His works have been repeatedly published in albums published in Denmark - "Imaginaire 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 ", "DANTE - The Divine Comedy", "Album of Fantastic Art - Museum in Vienna", "Album of Polish Painting 2019" and in "Album - Creators of the Image of Polonia".

Jacek Lipowczan's painting style can be described as realism-surealistic-fantastic, although the themes of his paintings are also deeply based on contemporary social and political events. His paintings are a synthesis of the present whether Polish or international.

Jacek Lipowczan is also the inspirer of the important for this trend cyclic (every two years ), international touring exhibition "Magical Dreams" - organized by Galerie Bator from Szczyrk. At the moment it will be the VI edition of "Magical Dreams". This exhibition takes place in several Galleries or Museums in Poland, as well as in Galleries and Museums in Austria and Germany.
