The artist combined various printing techniques - etched metal plates with linocuts and woodcuts. From 1968 she created color prints - as in the series Portraits , or Figures - gradually blurring the boundaries between printmaking and painting. The work comes from the private collection of the co-founder of the collection of Polish prints at the Albertina in Vienna. Halina Chrostowska (1929 - 1990) graphic artist, draughtswoman, educator, art activist, daughter of Stanislaw Ostoja-Chrostowski. Educated at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts from 1946 to 1950, she studied painting and graphic design. From 1950, almost until her death, she worked at the academy as a teacher. From 1962 to 1989 she headed the printmaking studio.
