Published in 1928, the album "Teka autolitografii Czartaka" contains works by artists associated with the regional group of poets, writers, painters and graphic artists with a passion for the Beskid Mountains. In addition to Kowarski, there are prints by Weiss, Czyzewski, Pronaszko, Fałat and others.

A painter, he was associated with the interwar groups Jednoróg, Rytm and Pryzmat. He studied at the SSP in Odessa (1908-1910) and at the St. Petersburg academy (1911-1918). He taught decorative painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, and, from 1929, easel painting at the Warsaw SSP. The artist initially referred to the work of Russian landscape painters of the late 19th/early 20th century, and sought inspiration in Courbet's Jurassic landscapes. His painting is characterized by monumentalism, achieved with the help of synthetic, simplified form and muted, restrained colors.
