Photograph depicting a cabaret dancer, probably performing in Paris. Its author is a Polish photographer nicknamed Walery, who became famous for a series of photographs taken of American actress Josephine Baker. Walery had photographic establishments in London and later in Paris. He inherited the business from his father, Stanislaw Ostrorog, who died in 1890. Photographs of father and son, among others, are on display at The National Portrait Gallery.
