Stanislaw Zurawski (Krosno 1889 - Krakow 1976) studied at the Krakow Academy of Fine Arts from 1907 to 1913 under Jozef Mehoffer, as well as Wojciech Weiss. During his studies, he received awards and medals for his schoolwork several times. He was a member and founder of the Artists' Guild "Jednoróg". He painted portraits, still lifes and landscapes, including many of the Tatra and coastal areas. Above all, however, he painted female nudes and half-acts - depicted either against a landscape background or, more often, against a decoratively framed background of colorful linens, tapestries and pillows. These paintings show clear inspiration from the art of Wojciech Weiss.
