painter of Jewish origin, creating in France. He came to Paris before World War I and entered the circle of École de Paris artists. He became friends with, among others, Chaim Soutin and Michel Kikoine. He also stayed temporarily in Belgium, but mainly created in Paris, painting views of the city's streets, houses and squares. He also painted portraits (often of children), figural scenes, still lifes and flowers, Between 1921 and 1938 he exhibited constantly at Salons - Salon d'Automne, Salon des Independent, Salon des Tuileries. From 1923 he was a member of the Société du Salon d'Automne. From 1929, he claimed French citizenship in exhibition catalogs. During the war - in 1943 - he found himself in a concentration camp. And it is the year - 1943 - that is most often given as the date of the artist's death (sometimes 1966 or 1977 are also encountered). However - according to the accounts of his closest family - Natan Grunsweigh survived the war and died in 1956.
