1854 Synowódzko Wyżne - 1936 Kraków
As a student at the architecture department of Lviv Polytechnic, he received a scholarship from Count Karol Lanckoroński for further studies. He began his studies at the Vienna academy under C. Gripenkerl and continued his studies until 1882 in Munich and Rome. In 1897, together with A. Augustynowicz, he founded a painting school for women in Lviv. He painted in oil and watercolor, mainly genre scenes, often of Hutsul life. He practiced monumental painting, and was the author of, among other things, polychrome paintings in an Orthodox church in Stanislawow, a university in Lviv, churches in Piotrkow, Brześć Kujawski, and Chorzow. He was also involved in designing stained glass windows, illustration, and conservation of works. Occasionally he took up the subject of landscape.
