Biography
Jozef Kidon began studying painting in Lviv in the studio of Stanislaw Batowski, and continued his studies in Amsterdam. In the twenties he took an artistic trip around Europe - he visited Italy, Germany, Holland, Belgium and Austria. Before the outbreak of World War II, he lived in Katowice, where he portrayed personalities of the Silesian elite and gained considerable recognition. He painted primarily portraits of women, with soft, delicate faces and studied poses. Less frequently, he painted still lifes and landscapes.
