1885 Opatowiczki - 1960 Milanówek
Painter and illustrator. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow under Józef Unierzyski and Leon Wyczółkowski (1902-1911). During his studies, he received numerous awards and prizes, especially for composition. In 1908 he received a scholarship and went to Paris for three years. He also visited London and Belgium. After returning to Poland, he settled permanently in Warsaw. He was a member of the Society for the Encouragement of Fine Arts (in 1913 he received a scholarship), he was also a member of the "Pro Arte" group and the Association of Polish Visual Artists (from 1927), and after the war he was a member of the Zachęta Group of Visual Artists. He created, set in the landscape, genre compositions - hunting, military scenes, sledding, harnessing - with a constantly recurring motif of horses. He also painted landscapes - views of villages and small towns - characterized by accurate observation of the realities of local life. He participated in many national exhibitions; his paintings enjoyed considerable popularity.
