Fritz van der Venne - popular painter active in Munich. A favorite motif of his paintings were horses, which he depicted in generic scenes against a background, usually winter landscape. He painted horse-drawn carriages, carriages, sleigh rides, trips and returns from hunting, scenes from Hungarian tinsel, and even horse-drawn "Polish" wedding processions.
