The painter was born in Greater Poland and co-founded the Brotherhood of St. Luke. He trained in the studio of Carl Morgenstern in Wroclaw (1906-1910), and continued his studies at the Berlin academy and in Munich. Since 1920 he lived in Szklarska Poreba, where he was associated with the community of Karkonosze painters, centered around the Brotherhood of St. Luke. In a forthcoming book on painters from the Brotherhood's circle, the author of the study Przemyslaw Wiater writes: "In 1922. F. Jackowski, together with painters H. Oberländer and A. Nickisch, took an artistic trip to Italy, where he was particularly fond of the island of Capri. He brought back to Szklarska Poreba many sketches and paintings. (...) Initially, he painted in tempera, and was particularly fond of painting since his trip to Italy, from which he brought back numerous landscape studies strongly emphasizing composition and the bright colors of the south. (...) He most often signed his name "F. von Jackowski" or "Fr. Jackowski"-in the postwar period of his work until 1957 r....". In 1957, he moved to Wangen, Bavaria.
