Painter associated with the Lviv art community. He was an extraordinarily talented self-taught artist whose work was compared to that of Maks Liebermann. His oil compositions, with their characteristic thick texture, painted with free brushstrokes, are usually cityscapes, genre motifs with women at the market, Ukrainian folk types, still lifes.
