Watercolor, paper, size 22 x 23 cm, monogrammer "Tx", inscription at the bottom of the composition "Herrnstadt um 15 januar 1863".
An unabashedly charming and expertly executed watercolor with a view of a finely reproduced church facade with a massive quadrangular tower with a clock. A procession of Protestant clergy follows from the church, followed in pairs by a large group of men in dark clothes and high hats on their heads. They head toward the storied house shown on the right, with a sloping red-tiled roof, partly brick and partly finished with so-called "Prussian brickwork." The January date at the bottom stands in contrast to the greenery of the trees and bushes around the buildings. It probably refers to the time of the watercolor's creation, not to the depicted scene, worth deciphering by a new buyer.
