oil, canvas; 63.5 x 78 cm;
Signed and dated p. d.: A. Kędzierski / 93
The artist took his first painting lessons at the Warsaw Drawing Class, then studied under J. Brandt in Orońsko, and later continued his studies at the Munich Academy. Initially influenced by Brandt's work, over time he developed his own style. He painted genre scenes from the life of the Polish countryside, which was close to his heart, country girls, still lifes with flowers. He also did illustrations for Reymont's "Peasants." In several of Kedzierski's paintings, the protagonists are birds, which the artist was able to paint very evocatively. In addition to the work presented here, it is worth mentioning other paintings such as: "Wrestlers - Roosters" (1897) and "Thistles and Pikes" (circa 1912).
