Biography
Graduate of Graphic Arts at the Faculty of Arts of UMCS in Lublin. Diploma in printmaking (etching) in the studio of Intaglio Printing under Prof. Artur Popek. He creates paintings in the style of geometric abstraction, referring to Cubism, Constructivism, Abstract Expressionism and Minimalism, combining various aspects and assumptions of these historical directions with selected and reconstructed elements of contemporary reality. In his works, layering and the relations occurring between the layers, their geometry, form and, above all, space and depth created through the layering of semi-transparent planes come to the fore. He juxtaposes a precisely defined form with a naturally imperfect, this form creating and filling structure. It is important for him to maintain a balance between geometric precision and imperfect textures. He paints with acrylics using a laser medium, which makes the paint not completely opaque. The valor differences seen in the paintings are due to the intermingling of several layers of paint. The inspiration for the forms used are usually elements from the world of architecture and typography. They can also be everyday objects observed in completely ordinary situations, depicted and transformed into flat shapes. All these elements are combined into abstract forms, which then, interpenetrating each other, create new, more complicated structures and create an impression of depth.
