Dawid Czycz was born in 1986 in Cracow, Poland. He is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow (diploma in Prof. Leszek Misiak's painting studio in 2011). Scholarship holder of the Artist-in-Residence program, BMUKK in Vienna (Austria, 2012). Winner of a Distinction from the Editorial Board of "Gazeta Wyborcza" Katowice in the 43rd Bielska Jesień 2017 Painting Biennale, as well as an Honorable Mention in the 44th Bielska Jesień 2019 (2019). Author of solo exhibitions: "Black Noise" at Wozownia Art Gallery in Toruń (2018), "Not to Look" at Arttrakt Gallery in Wroclaw (2016), as well as exhibitions presented at Zderzak Gallery in Krakow: "Woodland" (2015), "Solid Bodies" (2011) and "On Defects" (2010). He participated in many group exhibitions, including: "Grayscale," White Gallery, Lublin (2018); Cracow Art Salon, Palace of Art, Cracow (2018); "Good Luck" Yuki-Sis Gallery, Tokyo (Japan, 2018); "No Problem," Potencja Gallery, Cracow (2017); Bielska Jesień Painting Biennale, Bielska BWA Gallery (2017, 2015); "Grayscale," Alte Geuerwache Loschwitz, Dresden (Germany, 2016); "Hope for Peace" at Gallery 3F, Tokyo (Japan, 2016); "Artists from Krakow. Generation 1980-1990" at the MOCAK Museum of Contemporary Art in Krakow (2015); "The Day When the Circus Arrived" at Gallery Yuki-Sis in Tokyo (Japan, 2015). In his paintings, Dawid Czycz creates wonderful new worlds in which artistic fantasy masterfully operates with the contemporary language of pop culture imagery. Dynamic yet harmonious compositions tell the story of moods and emotions in today's world.
