Biography
Stanisław Żółtowski - painter and graphic artist, was closely associated with Warsaw. In 1934-39 he studied painting in the studio of Tadeusz Pruszkowski at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. He received his graduation diploma in 1948 in the studio of Prof. Felicjan Kowarski. From 1950 to 1984 he was a lecturer at his alma mater. He fought in the Warsaw Uprising, for which he was awarded the Warsaw Uprising Cross in 1993. Since 1967 he was a member of the Titulaire Correspondant, and since 1968 of the Conseiller of Cultural International Art Guild in Monte Carlo.The artist's works are in the collections of: The National Museum in Warsaw, the Historical Museum of the Capital City of Warsaw, the Museum of the Jewish Historical Institute in Warsaw, the Museum of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, the District Museum in Lublin, the State Museum in Majdanek in Lublin, the Nicolaus Copernicus Museum in Torun, the Museum of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, the Museum of Middle Pomerania in Slupsk, the Ministry of Culture and Art, the City Hall of Warsaw, the Capital Art Exhibition Office in Warsaw, the Private Museum of the Polish Army in Chicago, and in private collections at home and abroad, among others.Among others in Austria, Australia, Argentina, Belgium, Berlin, China, Finland, the Netherlands, Greece, Iraq, Japan, Yugoslavia, Canada, Monaco, New Zealand, Germany, Russia, Switzerland, Sweden, the USA, the UK and Italy.
