Biography
After being displaced in 1945, he settled in Silesia, in Zabrze, the most industrialized region of Poland. He completed his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow in 1960. He actively participated in national exhibitions and competitions, where he received a number of prizes and awards, including 2nd prize at the 1st National Easel Painting Competition in Lodz in 1970 for his painting titled "Home" and an honorable mention for "Silesian Blues." At the Biennale of Posters in Warsaw, he received a gold medal for a poster on ecological themes in 1974. He is a theater and film set designer. For many years he worked with the STG Experimental Theater in Gliwice, where he received a number of awards for stage design and staging together with director Edward Molk, especially for the stage designs of "Wiosna" according to Bruno Schulz, "Factory of the Absolute" by K. Czapka, "The Travelers" according to his own script, for the stage design of "Babel's Twilight" and many other shows. He also worked with director Ryszard Waska on his short films awarded at the Brussels Film Festival. He was the production designer of Andrzej Kondratiuk's film "Panna, Łucznik i Skorpion". He writes lyrics to which he composes music and performs them in his spare time as a guest of "Piwnica pod Baranami" in Cracow.
