When creating the painting, the artist used two techniques that try to match each other and mask the boundaries between them. Part of the painting is done classically, with oil paints. Raman also used a stamp with the inscription "painting has fallen" to make the work. The desire to combine the two techniques is partly coincidental. The overlapping phrases give the impression of illegibility and the ink from the stamp slowly turns into a uniform, colorful stain. "Paint as a material, is in our time less and less associated with representing something other than itself. To some extent, it has become practically as abstract as the letter, - we no longer remember why letters with a specific shape were suddenly invented. Just as we don't associate paint, for example, blue with the sky, but only with color." Raman Axionau works in performance, installation, video and various visual practices, and also works in an architecture and design studio. Roman Axionau's work deals with participatory practices in art sociology theory. He lives in Minsk, Belarus.
