Biography
In 2009 he received his diploma from the Faculty of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań, in the studio of Piotr C. Kowalski, where he is currently a doctoral student. Pawel Matyszewski's works have been shown in numerous solo exhibitions, including at: BWA Gallery in Zielona Gora (2019); Municipal Art Center in Gorzow Wielkopolski (2017); Biała Gallery in Lublin (2017); Arsenal Gallery in Bialystok (2016, 2010); Center for Creative Activity in Ustka (2014); Piekary (2011, 2015) and Starter galleries in Poznan (2009); Visiting Gallery in Warsaw (2018); Prastora KC in Brest (2019). The artist has participated in many group exhibitions, including at: Zachęta National Gallery of Art in Warsaw (2015); Castor Project in London (2018); BWA Bielska Gallery in Bielsko-Biała (2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016); Museum of Contemporary Art in Minsk, Belarus (2015); Tartu Art House in Estonia (2013) and many others. He is a recipient of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage "Young Poland" scholarship (2014), art prizes of the Biennale of Painting "Bielska Jesień" (2009, 2012) or the Biennale of Young Art "Rybie oko" (2013, 2015).
The artist's works are in the collections of Arsenal Gallery in Bialystok; Municipal Arsenal Gallery in Poznan; Bielska Galeria BWA; National Museum in Gdansk; Baltic Art Gallery in Ustka; Art Gallery in Legnica and Contemporary Art Gallery in Zrenjanin, Serbia.
