Marian Kasperczyk was born in 1956 in Oswiecim. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice (1976-1978) and the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow (1979-1981). Since 1981 he has been working and living in Paris.
**Beginning in 1988, Marian Kasperczyk has been working according to his own technique, called by himself "back to front". This technique involves squeezing acrylic paint through an unprimed canvas from the other side. Depending on the angle and nature of the incident light, forms of "appearing or disappearing" faces, hands. etc. emerge from the monochromatic canvases. The hidden presence of figuration emerges with less light, while a large amount of illumination causes it to disappear and the painting becomes completely abstract and structural.
Thanks to this technique, perfected for 30 years, Marian Kasperczyk's paintings gain a unique structure and a third dimension. Marian's first works made using this technique date from the 1980s and 1990s, and they stand the test of time perfectly.
