Between 1946 and 1951, he studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. He was associated with the circle of the Second Kraków Group and the international art movement "Phases." In 1948 he made his debut at the First Exhibition of Modern Art in Cracow, and in 1955 he won an award at the National Exhibition of Young Visual Arts at the Arsenal. Since 1954, he was associated with teaching work at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. In 1987, he received the title of professor. He headed the painting studio until his retirement in 1998.
Tchórzewski was involved in painting, printmaking and also poetry. Initially, he created in the spirit of figurative painting. At the time, he used a style close to the Surrealists. With time, the fantastic realms of the world of imagination began to take on more abstract forms, until they finally transformed into compositions resembling eruptions of matter. The artist experimented with the texture of his paintings, complicating and diversifying them. In the mature years of his work, he leaned towards religious themes. For his artistic activity, he was honored, among others, with the independent Jan Cybis Award and the Cyprian Kamil Norwid Art Criticism Award.
