Biography
Painter, performer, creator of installations. Since 2002 he has been using the pseudonym Furniture Factory. Studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz, 1994-1996 and the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, 1996-1999; graduated from the Painting Department of the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts in Prof. Zbigniew Gostomski's studio. He deals with the issue of illusion in painting, depicting space. Creates quasi-useful objects that play with the viewer's perception. He appreciates absurdity and humor in art. He works at the Faculty of Painting of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, and leads the Studio of Knowledge of Actions and Visual Structures. The featured painting is from the series Emotikofizjonomika presented at a solo exhibition at the Bacalarte Foundation in Warsaw in 2021. He has exhibited at, among others: Kunsthalle in Munich, 2018; Zachęta Project Place in Warsaw, 2017; Museum of the History of Polish Jews Polin in Warsaw, 2016; Entropia Gallery in Wrocław, 2015; Austrian Cultural Forum in Warsaw,2015; Zachęta - National Gallery of Art, 2013; Museum Morsbroich in Leverkusen, 2013. Associated with the Warsaw gallery community lokal_30. Works in the collections of: the Upper Silesian Museum in Bytom; the Lower Silesian Society for the Encouragement of Fine Arts, Wetzel Collection, Basel; Krinzinger Collection, Vienna; Hort Collection New York and private collections at home and abroad.
