Painter, student of F. Pautsch and S. Kamocki at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, since 1945 associated with the Silesian artistic community. From 1950-1977 he was head of the painting studio at the Cracow branch of the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice. Dutkiewicz's work is dominated by issues of color, in formal and spatial solutions the artist readily referred to the work of Cezanne. He introduced vivid, saturated colors into his landscapes, which freely describe the dynamic, somewhat angular forms of objects.
