Prof. Jan Ferenc was born in 1954 in Jaroslaw. He works in drawing, printmaking and painting. Studied at the Faculty of Graphic Arts of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in 1974-1979, diploma in the studio of graphic design of Prof. Maciej Urbaniec, annex in the studio of painting and drawing of Prof. Jerzy Tchórzewski in 1979. Currently he is a professor at the Faculty of Arts of the UMCS in Lublin. Member of the ZPAP Branch in Lublin. He has had nearly 30 solo exhibitions. He has participated in more than 150 national and international group exhibitions, as well as in international plein-air and post-plein-air exhibitions. In 1980 and 1986, he received a scholarship from the Minister of Culture and Art. He received many national and international awards and prizes, the more important of which are: 1980 - First Prize of the XIX Debuts of the Graduates of the Academy of Fine Arts - Warsaw; 1993, 2000, 2002, 2008, 2011 - distinctions of the Triennale of Polish Contemporary Drawing - Lubaczow 2000 - Special Prize - VI International Triennial of Art at Majdanek, Lublin; 2003 - Prize of the Board of Directors of ZPAP - VII Triennial of Art at Majdanek, Lublin; 2006 - Honorable Mention - III International Drawing Competition Wroclaw. In 2009, he received Awards from the Governor of Lublin and the Mayor of Lublin. He is a lecturer in the Department of Painting and Drawing. He lives in Yaroslavl.
