Academy of Fine Arts, where he received his diploma in the painting studio of Professor Eugeniusz Eibisch. In 1965, influenced by an exhibition he saw of the self-taught artist Nikifor Krynicki, he adopted a similar style of painting, which he later modified and developed.Edward Dwurnik created elaborate series of paintings. He was an extremely prolific artist - if only paintings on canvas were considered, his oeuvre counts more than 8,000 works. The first works of his oldest and most recognizable series "Hitchhiking Travels" - views of cities from a bird's eye view - are dated 1966. Other important series include "Sportsmen," a caricatured and at the same time brutal portrait of Poles of the communist era, and "Workers," a portrait of Poland struggling against the communist oppressor.
