Arika Madeyska (Jadwiga Lubicz-Orłowska) - painter, draughtswoman, author of collages and ceramics, and painting conservator. She studied in 1948-1951 at the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Sopot in the studios of Artur Nacht-Samborski, Józefa Wnukowa and Jacek Żuławski. From 1954-1963 she lived and worked in Warsaw, and then emigrated to France. An award-winning artist, she actively exhibited her works both at home and abroad in renowned galleries in solo and group exhibitions (Paris, Switzerland, Italy, USA, Japan, Yugoslavia). Again present on the Polish scene after 1991.
