Open hilt, brass frame. The hilt is straight, crossed with whiskers and arms ending in balls. Tailpiece and mustache with bones. Ball head with a hole for a sling. Shank of two ivory facings, attached to the shank with two rivets. The facings edged with a brass band. Between the rivets on both sides engraved representations of a half-sun. Polished steel hilt of moderate curvature, profiled on both sides into flat amphibians with wedge-shaped cross-section and rounded back. Bare-bone double-edged feather, adventurous hilt.
Sabers with a Turkish-type handle (with a spherical head) were in the armament of the horse formation of Napoleon's imperial guard - the Mameluk troops.
