Prussian artillery saber wz. 1896, with scabbard. CONFORMED. Kolobrzeg
Length of saber in scabbard 93 cm, without scabbard 88,5 cm
HEAD: 77.5 cm, width 3.1 cm
CONDITION: good. No losses or damages. head sharpened
HEAD SIGNATURES: There is a maker's signature on the cap shown in the photo: WEYERSBERG KIRSCHBAUM. On the back is the letter W under the crown, the numeral 87 - (acceptance into the army in 1887 - the year after the saber model was introduced), and the technical inspection mark - the Gothic letter under the crown.
HANDLE: closed with a single-barreled hilt. The wood of the handle is covered with leather, which is rubbed in places. Steel cap with technical inspection mark.
SIGNATURES OF THE JELSE: There are two technical control marks - a Gothic letter under the crown and the letter F. In addition, the marking of the 2nd Prussian artillery regiment - 2.A.4.53, fully consistent with the scabbard. This regiment was stationed in Pomerania in Kolobrzeg.
HALF of the scabbard complete, with a minimal dent under the dent riffle. There is visible surface loss on the entablature. The scabbard bears the weapon number 2.A.4.53. Interestingly, the battery number 4, and the weapon number 53 are stamped on the neck of the scabbard. The technical inspection mark is also visible there.
