Hand closed, brass frame. Shield-scabbarded yoke (side scabbards truncated). Shank seated with a shield socket, top riveted on a short hood with a headstock pin. Wooden handle, diagonally notched, wrapped in leather and laced with filigree. The head of steel, polished, with moderate curvature. Profiled on both sides in a single furrow and an adventitious furrow. Short, double-edged feathered, adpressed hilt. Receipt signatures on the outer lobe, Chatellerault maker's inscription on the spine. P o c h w a steel - neck, one riffle, asymmetrical spur.
