French saber model 1822 of the light cavalry; Piece made in Châtellerault in 1879, where the Klingenthal manufacture was relocated for strategic reasons. Closed handle. Brass yoke with a front bail (stamped No. 98) and two sides and a shield. The head signed on the back: Mre D?Armes de Châtt Sbre Juin 1879 Cavrie Lre Mie 1822. stamped V. Head with a curvature of 38mm, with a single wide beard and a dorsal deep scabbard ("? la Montmorency"). Scabbard made of sheet steel with cuff fixed with two rivets (stamped No. 972). One riffle with a bearing wheel. A Q is stamped on the spur. State of preservation 5/5/5. The 1822 pattern is in continuous use, for example, by the Garde Républicaine.
