Hand open, brass frame. Tailpiece straight, crossed, with whiskers and shoulders ending in elongated quadrangular ovals. Tailpiece and whiskers with bones. Ball head with a hole for a sling. Shank of two facings of black stock, attached to the shank by a brass sleeve in the head and upper whiskers. The whole is edged with a brass band. Polished steel head with considerable curvature. Profiled on both sides in a single medial furrow, reaching a double-edged feather. The hilt with a claw. Along the length of the pawn, the head is tarnished dark garnet, with etched and gilded decorative elements on it, typical of late 18th and early 19th century heads. On the outer lobe, under the cap, an etched ornament and the maker's signature: the letters "S & K" - Schnitzer and Kirchbaum. P o c h w a s brass. Fluted neck, press-fastened in the mantle. Rings and sleeves from flutes also grooved. Movable collar set on the flat back of the scabbard. Asymmetrical spur.
Sabers with a Turkish-type handle (with a ball head) were in the armament of the horse formation of Napoleon's imperial guard - the Mameluk troops.
