Brass handle with a spun head and fifteen transverse notches on both sides. The handle is attached to the shank with a steel rivet and by sealing the shank on the head. In the dorsal part, a guide with a spring-loaded catch. Steel stag with a front arm strongly bent towards the head. The rear arm is a ring for the insertion of the barrel of the Chassepot rifle and others. On the inside of the hilt minted receiving punches and military numerators. The steel blade, of the yatagan type, profiled on both sides into a single wide, reaching short double-edged feather, with a dimpled groove. Sewn-in crest. On the outer threshold a beaten signature. On the spine the inscription "Mre Impale de Mutzig 8cie 1867". P o c h w a steel, with numbering on the neck. The catching entablature is missing. The scabbard ends with a knob.
