Viola Tycz
"Desperado"
86 x 80 cm
2020 r.
Viola Tycz - her works are in fact a negation of painting. Sterility of expression, minimalism of means, discipline of line. And the sudden impact of a single chord of a sparing patch of color. It's like Avro Part's musical compositions, a minimal, ascetic statement, where only one chord of color rings out. Where the statement is more important than formal solutions.
She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw. A scholarship holder of the Pilar Juncosa Foundation and the Joan Miró Foundation, she is a multimedia artist - she does printmaking, painting, video and installation. Viola Tycz's painting work is bold, non-standard and unconventional. The artist's works can be found in the collections of the Lower Silesian Society for the Encouragement of Fine Arts, the National Museum in Warsaw and the National Museum in Cracow, among others.
